Your contribution will be directed to the Marcia Polimer Abrams Canine Behavior Studies Donor Advised Fund at the AKC Canine Health Foundation to support research studies concerning canine behavior. The Marcia Polimer Abrams Behavior Fund was established by Darlene Arden in memory of her mother.
According to Darlene, it is thought that more dogs die as a result of behavior issues than any other health problem. Too often people give up on their dogs and turn them into shelters where they are usually euthanized. Behavior health impacts all dogs whether purebred or mixed heritage. It's important to consider behavior when breeding. Behavior studies can help discover ways in which behavior issues can be resolved whether they're genetic or environmental. Behavior research in dogs may also yield help for human behavioral health.
